DIY Share: Coffee Tables

I'm looking for interesting pieces for my family room. The Brick House Is an awesome design site. Once you get on this site you get lost in it's glorious wonder! Was that too much? Anywhooo in my search for coffee tables I stumbled on this beauty. So easy and so unique, the hardest part will be finding the piece of wood. This is a must share and I am on the search for an awesome piece of wood so I too can build a table. Wish me luck.
Click the above link for directions on this masterpiece

Sweet baby Jesus, I just went online looking at prices for slabs of wood and I almost choked on my spit! Unless I get a donation this is outside the realm of my reality!

I also came across this table on-line in  Home Depot Projects. I like a lot but when I read the instructions all my hopes were gone. I don't have the tools to make this project as shown so I'm still looking. (I'm going to keep this on the back burner because I may be able to work it even without some of he steps) but it's definitely worth sharing. Get your DIY on!

Junk in the Trunk Tuesday: focusing on those trunks

So I typed in Junk in the Trunk on Google and up popped the Urban dictionary, no surprise to me. So I take a gander just to see what exactly it list as the definition.

1. junk in the trunk
having a prodigious butt

A little more than badonkadonk but less extreme than having an SUV in the pants.
I don't mind a woman with a little meat on her bones, a little junk in her trunk.

So there you have it. Now let's check out some other trunks

DIY Share! Whats' on your fridge?

Sharing an awesome Chevron application from : Pocketful of Pretty
I had pinned this picture on Pintrest and as I was going back through my pins
I clicked to the originating website. I thought the stripes were painted but they
are from contact paper. I think this is a genius ideal!
When I get rid of my zebra  walls it's going down!
I think it would be a little too much right off a Zebra wall.
Please is this urges you to apply to your fridge
send me a picture so I can post or if you have already done something
wonderful like this to your fridge then send me a pic.

Click your way on over to Pocketful of Pretty for the full story and instructions! photo 35845374-bce1-426b-9e7a-633f43c85d42_zps12c60185.jpg

Giving back by volunteering: Face Painting the kiddies

It's been over two years since I have done any type of face painting. We gathered the family and all put in time at the Newport Fire Departments Open House. My two sons earned service learning hours required at school, by volunteering  for this event.

Trying out some new faces before Sat

Let me tell you, kids are so funny and
I was cracking up all afternoon.
I met some real characters while painting!
So here are  pics below of  a few faces that I painted.

This kid saw the picture of the blue walrus and said I want that but different.
So I said what do you mean by different, he told me he wanted me to use
like 8 colors and all this other stuff. I said you can pick one color and
we sat looking at all the colors and he decided green.
So here you have it the green walrus, came out pretty cool.

Cutie pie butterfly cousins!

Neon rainbow butterfly for Maddy

This kid was like I want 88 on my forehead and fire on my cheeks.
Naturally I ask what is 88 for and he told me for the fire Truck.
I was like OK and on the fire, I'll do my best. He liked it.

These are old pictures when I was practicing on my kids back in 2009
