Ally Meets Mori! [Sew What? Series: Pattern testing for Blue Dot Patterns "The Ally Skirt"]

Blue Dot Patterns "The Ally Skirt"
I was happy to be a part of the pattern testing team for Diane over at Blue Dot Patterns. We are kindred Sew-mates who met testing translated Citronelle patterns for SewMamaSew.com. I have sewn several Margo tops, which  is pattern from a Blue Dot, I love that pattern  so it was a pleasure to sew up another Blue Dot pattern for Diane.

The Ally skirt! What a cute pattern. This pattern screams to be made in denim and I have my next one all cut out and ready to go. The process along with the instructions were easy-peazy. If you are new to sewing this is a great pattern, button holes could be an issue but there are other alternatives such as snaps. I give this pattern two thumbs up! [The pattern is on sale but I don't know for how long!]

My pattern modifications:
  • I added side pockets. [the pattern that was released added a front pocket option]
  • I added two pockets flaps in the front instead of the one
  • I added back pockets
  • I used snaps instead of buttons

[The top is Burda 7148]
