Recipe Time:Soups On!
Alethia
I got the meat and bones of this recipe from my Sista Alethia. She prepared this soup for one of our book club meetings and it was off the chain! I text-ed her on Sat asking for the recipe and she graciously sent it to me. Here is the thing the recipe was like one my Mom would have given me "Girl put a little of this with that and some of this and BOOM!" **crickets** I'm kidding sorta, I got the gist of it and my recipe below is how I put it down but I think anyone can tweak this into many, many different soups! So here it is and Thanks again Alethia!

Striped stairs, floors and ceilings, more for a fun environment, don't you think? Do you like stripes? do you have any stripes? Holla at a Sista and let me know, send a pic to share if you'd like, the more stripes the merrier!

Whites stairs, meet blue stripes
Well back to work in the family room. I wiped the dirt off my white stairs to get them ready for the stripes. They were a little dingy still but that's OK, I'll call it the weathered look. Now a taping we will go, a taping we will go ,high hooooo.....oh shoot my back just reminded me why I was putting this off!

If you can drop a comment to let me know I will be ale to replace them hopefully. I am a little tired I may change my host because it's too time consuming to keep replacing my photos. *sigh

Ohhhhh, so that's Jimi Hendrix!
Let me tell you this post was inspired by this design using a picture of Jimi Hendrix on the walls. I had always seen pictures and his image was the main thing that I knew about Jim Hendrix. I knew he was considered one of the best electric guitarists of our times and he died from drugs, sadly that was about all I knew of him. So after this design that I love, I decided to do a little research on the man they call Jimi Hendrix. So here's a little history, design and art!
First thing I found out that his born name was Johnny Allen Hendrix and he used the name James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix. In 1961, he enlisted in the US Army and that didn't last to long because he was granted an honorable discharge the following year. Wait until you hear the reason why. On May 31 1962 Jimi was discharged from the army -"Behavior problems, required excessive supervision while on duty, little regard for regulations, apprehended masturbating in platoon area while supposed to be detail."
I am open to all types of music but I never really got into Rock-n-Roll and this is where I placed his music. Boy was I surprised to learn that Jimi was a Funk & Blues guy as well. Now you and I know that the Isley Brothers are the furthest thing from Rock-n-Roll right? Well early in his career earned a place in the Isley Brothers' band. He also worked with Little Richard, I can definitely see the connection there. I listened to the Jimi Hendrix Experience: "Hey Joe", "Purple Haze", and "The Wind Cries Mary". Still not my cup of tea but I agree that this man was genius with his guitar!
Jimi Hendrix's childhood home in Seattle was demolished .
"The demolition crew has been working at a fast pace, and the tiny,
900-square-foot house where Jimi Hendrix lived from ages 10 to 13, and
first showed his love for music, was down to its shell Monday March 29, 2009." HERE
Jimi Hendrix moved in to the top floor apartment of 23 Brook Street,
located in the Mayfair section of London, in 1968.

It doesn't matter if it's black or white or white or black.
When I was a little girl in Florida, I remember my Uncle Bro had a big house that I thought was a mansion. In this house he had a room with all white furniture, this was not a room we sat in it was a room that you walked through and kept it trucking! When my kids were older I too had a white living room..OK mine had a little black in it but it was 98% white. Black & White are opposing colors that always lend drama to an interior, at least I think so. Here are my pics on Black & White designs that make the grade. Obviously these are not family friendly rooms and you may not even want some adults in them but aren't they pretty?

Home offices with Style
I have a home office in my bedroom and some people may not like that. I do because I hate laptops and I use a PC that is mine, mine, mine. I have to have this in a separate room from my kids computers so they do not use mine. So I took the corner in my room and added a desk to make my own little bedroom office if you will. I now present to you my bedroom office.
