Who's That Chic

My name is Michelle and my family calls me Meeshie. My background is in Fashion Design but I love anything to do with art. When it comes to interior designing I like to design on a budget. I can't always afford all the grand things in life but I do have a way of creating alternative options that fit my budget.

I took quite a few years off from sewing and just returned to sewing at the end of 2013. I’ve gotten my sew-jo back and now I am super excited to share the things that I am making. Clothes are like art to me and I have a love for boldness and anything colorful. I have been called a master at mixing and matching prints and I own that title!

2015 was an exciting year for my sewing. I won the first annual Rippin Ain’t Easy sewing competition with Prettygirlssew.com. I was a judge for the Super Online Sewing Match II with sewmamasew.com. My blog was chosen as one of the 50 top blogs on burdastyle.com. I am currently a blogger for Fabric Mart as well as a contributor for several online sewing communities and I have also been featured on these outlets. I am excited to start 2016 by partnering with BERNINA as an ambassador and can't wait to see what you think about my work!

What am I doing besides starting up this Blog? I work full-time and I founded a book club called "The Sista Girl Book Club" back in 2005. I am the mother of three and I call them my three amigos. My daughter Mori who’s face you see all over this blog, my sons A & J. Now that we have been formally introduced, sit back and kick off your shoes and enjoy the show.

  23. Hi Michelle, I just recently started following you and think you are so fabulous. I have an abundance of beautiful fabric and sources for more, and about to set up a store on Etsy. I also thought that it would be good to sell fabric from time to time at some kind of venue. I'm not too far from Philly. I think you're from that area? Any ideas? Many thanks.
