DIY Jumpsuit ["Keira Ramel Jumpsuit" by Nina Ramel Patterns]

I have another new pattern to introduce to you. This DIY jumpsuit was made with the Keira Ramel Jumpsuit a new pattern from Nina Ramel Patterns  by Shari over at MyDailyThreadz. This DIY jumpsuit ain't for no shy gal, that's for sure! The plunging neckline is right up Mori's alley. The wide legs are right up my alley thus that makes this DIY jumpsuit a winner in our book.

The construction was very interesting and I wanted to follow the instructions so that I can provide a true and accurate assessment to share with ya'll. the top was super cool the instructions were clear and I love the was the top is put together, especially the seams under the arm were super cleaver.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes it did.

Were the instructions easy to follow?

When connecting the top to the waistband, they were a little trying at times I was not able to visualize the words into action, so the pictures did help. It was a little hiccup in the process but the rest was smooth sailing.

Fabric Used: Sweatshirt Fleece

Now since I wasn’t sure how this was going to work out I used this Sweatshirt Fleece that I had on hand as a wearable muslin. What I didn’t take into account was that this was a tailored fit in the top and it had a waist band that has gathers  with two pieces of fabric, that would have an invisible zipper sewn to them in the back….I know you can see the bulk in this situation right? Well it was a challenge and that invisible zipper was peeking out a tad bit. The bulk was too much in the waist area, so I let it be. The average person would not pay it any mind…. But you and I would but ya'll are going to let this one slide!

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: 

My pattern was missing two inches off my inseam measurements so I added 4 inches to the length and made my crotch two inches lower so it would not rise up in the crotch area. This was the first time that I’ve ever had a pattern made to the measurements that you provided and this was off. [If you want your jumpsuit length longer to wear with high-heels remember to add that heel height to your measurements] I did not make any changes to the design.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? 

I am going to sew another on from fashion fabric now that I know it will fit with my adjustments.

Yes, I would recommend the pattern but I would just say check the inseam measurement and make sure you have enough room in the crotch before cutting up your good fabric. Make a muslin version first. I’m sure Shari would be happy to help you if you run into this type of problem. Maybe the error made on my pattern was a fluke.

Conclusion: This Keira Ramel Jumpsuit is sharp and I love the drama that it brings and you can dress it up or dress it down as I did.
