Saturday was my 50th Birthday and I wore my Birthday Blazer!

Yup, I'm officially part of the 50 club! OOOMMMGGGG!! My daughter Mori and my sister gave be the best-est Birthday Dinner ever. I had family and friends to help me celebrate this special day and we all had a blast. My niece Mia was my part-time photographer, she was missing in action for some shots.

Now to look the part I made myself this McCall's M7016 blazer. Of course I had to hack it into something special for my special day. I knew that whatever I was going to make, I was going to use an Ankara print from my stash and I also knew I wanted to make a blazer or a duster. I used view A for the top and for the bottom I made a high low peplum. I used the skirt bottom for View C as the base and just extended the point as far as I could on my fabric.

I had to measure the top of the peplum and make the circle wide enough to fit around the bottom of the blazer with a little opening in the front. I was not able to cut it on the fold because I had to open my fabric the full 60 inches. I cut two pieces for the outside and two pieces for the lining which would be showing, when the blazer is worn. This was a super easy pattern and hack because after all I needed something easy.........as always I waited until the last minute to make something. [I did not get one single shot of the back UGH!!!]
Now it's PARTY TIME!! Please meet my family and friends.
I had a great Birthday Yesterday! My sister Cap stopped by in the morning to give me a cup of hot tea and a Owl ‪#‎alexandani‬ bracelet! Then she got my eyebrows did! I ran into an old friend  in the mall when I went to get a pair of jeans. Then Mori came by to get dressed and whisked me of to my birthday dinner at ‪#‎Relish‬.  I met up with all my peeps, childhood friends  who traveled to be here for my special day, old school friends, work friends, books club friends and friends that became friends from other friends! Thank you all. Most of all I want to thank Mori  and my sister Cap for putting this together for me.

All my cards, I read some funny stuff, these cards are great!!!
 Love you guys!
