You need a little Rasta Color in your life! [Sew What? Series Blue Dot Pattern "Georgia Top" re-fashion & Simplicity 1069 Wrap Skirt]

This outfit was a don't worry be happy outfit! look what I was working with, Bob Marley and  fabric which is a explosion of colors! Let's talk about this t-shirt refashion first. I took a size 2X  Bob Marley t-shirt and decided I wanted to up-cycle it using one of my new patterns. Now I did purchase my t-shirt specifically for this project. I paid $7.50 at my local Walmart. Here are some of the Bob Marley t-shirts from Walmart that would work well for this project but you can also use any t-shirts you may already own. I used Blue Dot pattern's "Georgia" top. I forgot to take pictures when I cut this pattern, to show you my placement  on my t-shirt [Oops!] I'll make an up-cycle t-shirt  DIY because this is tutorial-worthy!  I used ribbed knit for the collar, waistband and cuffs.
The skirt is from Simplicity 1069.....my new favorite pattern for a wrap skirt. I used this Rasta cotton print that I got from Fabric Mart a while ago. Sorry Peeps this print is sold out! I've been cruising the internet and I've seen several version of the pant option in this pattern and that is my next project. I love the t-skirt and skirt combo it's so colorful and carefree.

  5. RE: The Named Pants Pattern. Michelle I know!!! I saw you post it on your blog, FB somewhere, can't remember. I said "Oh she has the pattern"! I have to try and morph it from the Burda Pattern (still haven't gotten up the energy to trace it from the magazine yet). I know you'll enjoy that gift!!!
