Stripes TwoTimes [DIY Dress Simplicity 8379 and DIY Jumpsuit Style Sew Me Patterns Anitra]

[My daughter Mori  wearing the Simplicity dress and my sister Cap wearing the Anitra Jumpsuit]
Hey Ya'll I'm back with another Anitra jumpsuit, this time for my sister Cap. I wanted to make another jumpsuit using a print fabric for my sister. I found this stripe print ITY for a bargain  and I decided to get enough to make the jumpsuit and the Simplicity 8379 dress. The last time I did a photo shoot with my sister she was fired and never to be hired again buuuuutttt I decided to give her one more chance at modeling for me.

Let me talk about the patterns. You know how I feel about the Anitra Jumpsuit pattern from Style Sew Me, from my last post but if you didn't see that post it's here! I love this pattern and this can be super sexy or super casual, it all depends on how you accessorize this jumpsuit. The construction of the jumpsuit was great the first time and I flew though the process this time around, since I knew how to put it together.

Now this Simplicity 8379 Dress has two main pieces  for the front and back, a neckband and two armhole bands...that's all she wrote. Purchasing this pattern was a no-brain-err and  I knew the ITY fabric would be a fabulous choice for the pattern because you need a really drapey [not sure if that's a real word] fabric for this dress. Who needs to talk about construction with so little to put together, just make sure you have the right needle for your fabric! [I did use stay tape and the shoulders.] I can see both of these patterns being popular for the summer, so grab yours and get to sewing!

There you have it folks, two great summer patterns. By the way my sister did good today!

    1. Sandra, yes I wear all those hats and my shoulders are tired! I'm glad that you're picking up what I'm putting down, it's all love! Oh my sister may not model for me again, she said it's too much pressure, you have to breath, hold in your stomach, hold your arms just so and tilt your head and control your facial features all at the same time, plus I ain't really paying her....so we shall see.

  9. Have to agree with a previous post, these outfits are SAAAASSSSY as hell. Love them. The fabric really makes them pop! I don't know if I would have bought that fabric but, thru MICHELLE Magic you gave this life.....can a sister spare two yards. =)

    1. You know what, I really don't like ITY or knits in general but for the jumpsuit I knew I needed an ITY knit because they would work well with the pattern draping. When I saw that stripe fabric I loved the colors and I had to grab some of it for the jumpsuit. if I had two yards I would gladly have shared it with ya!

    1. Thank you, I call myself the almost semi-amateur-professional photographer, now if I only knew how to use all my settings on my camera you would see like 100 pictures per post.

    1. Thanks Anita, this was a fun one, I really need to capture the behind the scenes of my shoots. My vision worked with the two of them in the same print but different garments.
