Mori & Giselle in all their stunning glory

I put together this 70's inspired look for my daughter Mori as part a the Monthly Stitch. I love the Boho vibe that this dress gives, topped of with this fedora and jewelry.  Get the details for the making of this dress HERE! When Mori first put on this dress she was not feeling those puffy shoulders and I told her I have to keep those because they are true to this design, she was like, I still don't like them. Wouldn't you know that by the end of our photo shoot she was like, They are growing on me. We weren't able to take pictures outside due to the weather, so more pictures will be forth-coming. So here is Mori wearing her new friend Giselle!

  1. I must admit I am not a fan of this pattern but your version is fabulous! I love the color mix. I would never be so brave. Beautiful work.

    1. You know what Jane I bet a lot of people would look at this and say the same thing but I always go for the odd item. When my daughter first tried on this dress she was not having those puffy seventies sleeves but I toned them down a little in my re-make. The right fabric can turn a frown up-side down!

    1. Thanks, the funny thing when I first made this and she tried it on she was like" Mom I ain't wearing this, theses sleeves are too poofy" I said Mori that was the style and the look that she gave me was the look of death. I did take some of the poofy-ness from the sleeves and it grew on her.

  4. At first glance, the pattern can be shocking. However, after the third picture, I loved it. It reminds me of the designer Peter Pilotto. I also like the way she styled it with the hat, jewelry and boots!
