DIY Denim Clutch Tutorial: Owls and a sequin clutch oh my!

OK so I took on a denim challenge and I knew one of the pieces I wanted to make was a clutch for myself. I didn't just want a plain clutch so I decided to use the sequined owl that I made for this t-shirt. Why would I destroy this shirt you may ask? Well I did not like the cut of this t-shirt nor did I like the fit but I still loved my owl and I wanted to use it on another item. So a cutting I went!

I was also excited about using this new pattern I bought from Esty. This pattern is by ConstructivPatterns. I was interested in mastering this inset closure on this clutch. I was able to work my way through this pattern but It was not super-duper clear in it's directions. I made minor alterations in my clutch, first I made a larger version that shown in the picture and pattern. I also did not sew in the darts because I was adding piping on my version and I wanted mine to be  flat. The $4.50 that I spent for this pattern was worth learning how to sew this type of closure! Supplies: Clutch fabric (I used old jeans, so this is a re-fashion baby!), lining fabric, large zipper, interfacing and if you want something on your pull don't forget that. (this is not a step-by-step tutorial)
