Secret Santa Gift: DIY Ankara Rope Bowl

Soooo as a BERNINA Ambassador I participated in the Secret Santa this year. All the gifts have to be handmade gifts. I was all like "Of course I can do this." Then it hit me when I found out who  my gift was going to, that this was not going to be as easy as I thought. A lot of the BERNINA Ambassadors are professionals who make things for a living. I checked out the website of my person and I was like, "what the hell can I make this lady?" I was clueless but I knew that whatever I made, I better bring my "A" game. I decided on a colorful rope basket along with some Ankara prints from my collection would do the trick. I cut out strips of a bright colored Ankara print to use on the rope for the basket. I figured she can use this basket for tools at her work-station. I would love to see what she does with the prints I sent, It's pretty much outside the box in fabric choices that I've seen her use for her work.

All wrapped up and ready to go to Arizona!
