Another DIY for my sewing room,YAY, I'm almost there. So I am trying to use items that I already own because as it is I spend too much money on my fabric stash so I need to watch what I spend on this basement make-over. I bought this chair from a thrift store for $20.00. The chair had a dingy fur cover on it. I knew I was going to recover it, that's why I bought it. IKEA is selling this chair for $149.00, the fur has been discontinued and they sell it in white leather and a bright print. I had been looking at this chair for my sewing room and I almost bought it in the white but I said, Michelle just use what you have. I was already refashioning some denim and I thought why not use the denim for the chair and that is how this IKEA hack came to be. I had to add the wheels from an old office chair from the garage.
Here is another office chair that I added fur.

Love this denim chair and yours is now unique to your space. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ms. Neti, it will add a little more flava to my room.
DeleteMichelle - how did you add the wheels? Was there already holes for them? The chair is just awesome and your sewing room is going to be amazing!
ReplyDeleteThere were already holes on the bottom with plugs in them for those who do not want to add wheels.
DeleteLOVE IT Michelle!! Yes the denim chair is fantastic and you did your thang for sure!!!!

Heeeeey Shari, Thanks, I love working with denim and I have more to come. Thanks for stopping by Hun.
DeleteYou did an awesome job with the chair. Love, love the use of denim.
ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch Alethia. I love re-purposing denim! I have several adventures planned, stay tuned!
DeleteGreat hack! I am sitting on that very chair right now, mine is black leather, got it cheap because it had been in the showroom. Now if I ever get tired of the leather or if it is too worn I'll know what to do, yours looks very special with the jeans still visible. I could even imagine arranging them a way I could still use the pockets, secret handkerchief or chocolate hideout :-)
ReplyDeleteYup that sound like a plan. I tried to use the front pockets but it was too much trouble and I had other projects on deck but I love it. Thanks for dropping by.
DeleteYou are amazing!
