2nd Ankara Print Dress [Butterick 6088] with Bell Sleeves this time!

[This dress was made for and modeled by my daughter Mori]

Another Butterick 6088 with a dramatic sleeve. No review needed for this post because it was only a day ago that I posted my review for this same pattern. This fab fabric is right HERE

I added these bell sleeves with slits to this version of the dress and let me tell you Mori LOVES this one and I the fit much smugger [is that a word?] because I used a stretch taffeta for the sides and the back. I used Ankara fabric from my stash for this  and I am not sure where the fabric came from, sorry.  I added a fabric covered belt to this dress and an exposed gold teeth zipper in the back.
I want to let you know before someone surely points it out to me......NO I was not really trying to match the fabric, I mean I did to a certain degree but I was trying to preserve as much fabric as possible. It's almost matched in the back but not quite, I was more concerned with matching those seams at the waist. Anyway I wasn't 100% sure Mori would  even like it and  that wasn't a real concern when I was cutting fabric. If this was for someone else you betcha I would have matched the print, now that's enough on that subject.
This is a stunner dress  with the print and those sleeves...did you see those shoes?

  11. I absolutely love your work...you have a gift for taking patterns that I would pass up as too "boring" and then turning them into something that I NEED to own! You are so talented, and your daughter is such a lovely and natural model. I love your blog and your great eye for prints & proportion. Thank you for the constant inspiration! -Jae
