See through. Transparent or you can just simply call it clear, whatever
you call it just put the word Fabulous before it and Clutch after it. When I
saw this it was like, why didn't I think of this? I found this on Pinterest, pinned by AP&AS This is an envelope clutch,
it’s not anything new but just the fact that it is clear makes it special. The
weight of my clear vinyl was 16 Gauge which did not make my clutch as stiff as
I wanted it. It was all they had at my local fabric store. I am going to order
40 Gauge for my next purse, don’t get me wrong I’m still going to rock this
one. When I was taking pictures I decided to use an all-white background, yes
for my clear clutch, it came out all right. I see more Transparent purse in the
future.

The trickiest par to this clutch will be measuring your pattern and getting the desired size. I used the size per the instructions from AP&AS. You can make it any size you want just as long as your folds over lap each other enough so that the closures catches both pieces. Notice the trail ans error marks on my pattern, make sure your measurements are right before cutting your vinyl.
Fold your clutch in the envelope shape to find your placement for your snaps (or other closures) Mark each spot with the marker. Next you will punch holes in your vinyl to add the snaps.
Next read the directions on how to apply the snaps to the fabric and add. I used two for each side and on the the flap, you can use more if you want..do what ever you wants it's your creation.
Next snap all your snaps together and you are done! Wasn't that sooo simple? You can bust out two or three of these in no time, you can use faux leather as an alternative choice of fabric.
I have seen these and thought about trying it myself. I even bought vinyl one time but it was too flimsy. I am gonna give it a go and I will also use a heavier gauge vinyl. I like the no sewing part of this. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteKay, sorry I didn't re[ply to your comment way back when but now is better than neva! I hope you were able to create your own purse and if you did please share. I too like the no sewing part of this project!
DeleteThis is so cool. I never thought to make my own clutch, but your instructions seemed simple enough for me to follow. I will have to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteYou really should it is sooo simple, you will spend the most time working out your measurements. You can use leather or faux leather to do this clutch! If you make one let a sista see it!
