"Rippin Ain't Easy" Sewing Competition "Striped Perfection"

This was challenge #1 using a McCall's 6953 commercial pattern. We were able to alter the pattern as long as you were able to tell that this pattern was used in your design. I wanted to use the maxi dress view D. I added a front opening, over-sized collar and a matching  skinny pant. I didn't want to change too much.  Mori said she felt like a Nun when she first tried this on but I was thinking the dress reminded me of the matrix. I used a stretch denim and I think there was more stretch that there was denim. Those pants were a bitch to fit because no matter how much I took them in the denim kept stretching making them loose. I was almost ready to trash them, they were giving me so much trouble but I won, yes I won!

This is the pattern we used for this first challenge.

    1. See here's the thing if you have the dress over the skinny pants you can get away with more that you think. I think it would camouflage areas that one would not normally want out there like that. So it could be possible that dress has a forgiving shape! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you voted for me!

    1. That fabric was the devil!!!! It was a stretch denim that was waaayyyy to strechy, it was touch and go on those pants. It all worked out in the end. Thanks so much for dropping by and stay tuned for the rest of the competition.

    1. Yep, I had to make it separates so she could use the pants on their own but it does look like a jumpsuit. Stay tuned for the rest of the competition, I'm thinking of working with some leopard print for my next garment.
