DIY Share & the Challange: Pinch Pleat Curtains With Sarah MacMillian

I  was minding my own business on the web checking blogs and I wasn't even searching for curtains but I am so glad this came up in one of my searches. It was like the clouds parted for the bright rays of sun to shine through….OK so it wasn't that deep but it was a happiness in my heart when I found this post. Pleated Curtains that I could make……Who Knew…….I sure didn't. Thanks a bunch Sarah over at Paririe Perch for sharing how-to for these Pinch Pleat curtains, they are awesome!

Sew you saw the DIY share, now to put it to the test. This was one of the easiest and most rewarding projects that I have tackled recently! I don’t really sew for other people anymore but I told Blanche, a longtime friend that I would make curtains for her. I’m in sewing mode so I thought this would be a simple project. We went to Joann’s and ordered enough fabric for 6 panels and two windows.  I was just thinking that I would sew your regular rod curtains but then I came across this post and that where it took a right turn into awesomeness!

Supplies:
  • Double Sided Binding Tape
  • Pleating Tape (4 inch)
  • Pleat Hooks
  • Yard Stick
  • Pins
  • Fabric
The steps are easy peazy, hem side (1 inch), Top (5 inches) and bottom (2 inches) and add pleat tape and hooks….that’s it!!! (Hem to your own taste) Now these are not my curtains but I did need to hang them up I my living room for this post. I will post a updated picture once they get to their new home.
